As summer arrives, glass insulation becomes a hot topic. Various insulation films and coatings are constantly emerging on the market, and the promotional slogans are becoming more and more mysterious. But ultimately, there are only two principles of insulation:Heat absorption and dissipationandReflective insulation. If you understand this difference, you will know how to choose.
Two insulation paths with vastly different effects

The first method is "absorbing heat and then dissipating heat". After absorbing solar heat, the coating slowly dissipates it indoors and outdoors. The problem with this approach is that the coating itself will heat up, and some of the heat will still be transferred indoors, resulting in limited insulation effect. Moreover, the coating remains in a high-temperature state for a long time, resulting in a faster aging rate.
The second type is' direct reflection '. The coating forms a reflective layer on the surface of the glass, which bounces back infrared and ultraviolet rays directly, preventing them from entering the room. The advantage of this method is that the coating itself does not heat up, the insulation effect is more direct, and the service life is longer.
The glass insulation nano coating solution adopts the second path. It uses chemical bonding to covalently bond various nano metal oxides with glass, forming an ionosphere on the surface of the glass and directly reflecting infrared and ultraviolet radiation back【1】
Reflective heat insulation, the data is the final say
The advantages of reflective insulation are clear in the face of measured data.

According to the product testing report, the infrared reflectivity of Beisto coating solution reaches 80-99%, the ultraviolet blocking rate is 90-99%, and the visible light transmittance remains at 70-85%. This means that it can block over 90% of the solar heat without affecting indoor lighting.
In contrast, traditional heat absorbing insulation materials often have higher water content. Because their insulation rate includes the implicit value of the coating's own heat dissipation into the indoor environment, the actual experience is greatly reduced. Not only insulation, but also insulation in winter

Many people don't know that a good insulation coating is actually a "two-way" process.
In summer, it reflects outdoor infrared heat energy back, preventing heat from entering indoors. In winter, it can also reflect the indoor heating energy back into the room, avoiding heat loss to the outside through the glass. This characteristic of 'summer separated from winter protection' allows it to function throughout the year.
This is particularly important in the field of building energy efficiency. According to relevant research, the energy consumption of building exterior windows accounts for about 40-50% of the total energy consumption of the building. By coating the glass surface with thermal insulation coatings, the air conditioning and heating loads can be effectively reduced, achieving annual energy savings
Choose insulation products and remember three key points

1. Principle: Reflective type is superior to heat absorbing type, with more direct effect and longer lifespan.
2. Check the data: Infrared reflectivity, ultraviolet blocking rate, and visible light transmittance should be considered together.
3. Checking lifespan: Coatings bonded by chemical bonds are more resistant to aging than products that rely on resin film formation.
Only by choosing the right principle can one truly select the right product.
